Happy Birthday
Today is my birthday. Munich is beautiful and busy but it's been a relaxing day. The airport is sleek and efficient, the drive on the Autobon to our hotel not nearly as crazy as imagined:) We checked our bags and set out to explore the city. This walk took us to the Viktualien-markt, an open-air market with lots of plants, food and beer. Trip director, Fritz, was also feeling the effects of little sleep and we got to NAP after lunch! Then more exploring the streets of Munich and a relaxing birthday dinner on the patio. Munich sights I love: the women on bicycles with their babies sleeping in screened carts behind them, the stores devoted to plants (especially herbs) and the florists. I also love the exit signs in the hotel and the fact that the hair dryer is permanently housed in the drawer under the TV for my safety.

Happy Birthday!! Sounds like you had a great one - and it included a nap! I can't think of a better way to celebrate.
Hitler's Beer Hall - the Burgerbraukeller (excuse me.) - is not there any more. There's just a plaque near a water sculpture with a tuba... go figure. But the famous 'Beer Hall Putsch" happened on my birthday (Nov. 8) in 1933, so since your in Munich on your birthday I feel a kind of connection... birthdays and Germany and failed coup attempts by deranged white supremacists. It's all good. Have fun!
Happy birthday mommy! Wow, father let you stop for sleep???!! He is getting old haha. jk jealous am I for being stuck in the states! But, now there are two of us in the family who have celebrated our birthdays abroad! :) That means, you have to top it next year!
Happy Birthday Mom!!! Great, since I didn't know to post a public birthday greeting, I look like I didn't remember my own mother's birthday...but you and I know that I told you on the phone AS WELL AS a private email! I had to create a google account just to leave this message!! I hope this new Google account is exciting...whatever it is...
Alles gute zum Geburtstag!
Are you impressed with my amazing German? Yah? I do have to say that although I got to spend my birthday with you, your birthday sounds just a little more exciting. I mean, therabands are a lot of fun, but shopping in Munich probably is slightly more fun. Have a great time!
thanks, friends and daughters for such nice birthday greetings! Rollergirl, I did not even read blog until long after O.T. posted so not to worry - you were up the same as everyone else:) Frank, we heard mention of the Burgerbraukeller and thanks to your excellent pre-history discussion, we knew what guide was talking about!
